Distribution

We champion films that excite curious minds, inspire imagination, and even change how people see the world. Our distribution arm works hard to release these titles across a variety of different platforms; including cinemas, television broadcasters, video on demand platforms and in-flight entertainment channels.

We have a strong track record of releasing African and Black cinema in the UK, and we are now expanding to include cinema from across the world.

Previously we have released the following films:

The Gravedigger’s Wife (Khadar Ayderus Ahmed, Somalia 2021):  We screened the film in 56 cinemas, and 6 community venues. We invited the director Khadar Ahmed and lead actor Omar Abdi who took part in 14 Q&As following the screenings. The film was then sold to Channel 4 and shown on the BFI Player. We partnered with a number of Somali organisations and community groups to position the film for audiences.

This is Not a Burial, It’s a Resurrection (Lemohang Jeremiah Mossese, Lesotho 2020): We sold this film to Channel 4 and MUBI.

Sprinter (Storm Saulter, Jamaica 2018): Drawing on its mainstream appeal the film was released commercially with over 200 screenings across the country in both mainstream and arthouse cinemas. We sold the film to Sky Cinema, and the BFI Player.

Rafiki (Wanuri Kahiu, Kenya 2018): The film screened in 35 cinemas across the UK, with 130 screenings in total. Director, Wanuri Kahiu, came over to the UK and took part in Q&As inLondon, Manchester, Cardiff and Sheffield, she also had feature articles in The Guardian and onChannel 4 News. In addition to the theatrical release the film played on VOD platforms, Curzon Home Cinema and the BFI Player, and was picked up for broadcast by Channel 4.
